So why football officiating you ask?  Some incentives include exercise, comradery with the other officials and coaches (yes we do get along with the coaches), the enjoyment of being involved with Football, giving the kids a fun and safe environment to play the sport we all love, and of course there is some pay involved.  There is always an opportunity to grow as an official, we are working on an exchange program with the Calgary Football Officials in which you can work your way up to officiating at the higher levels of football, such as Prairie Junior and University.  Or, you can stick with the little guys on a Saturday morning, your progression/career is completely up to you. Similarly the time commitments to the sport is your own choice.  For assigning games, we first ask your availabilities to work around your work schedule, holidays, anniversaries and birthdays, etc.  You can work 1 Saturday morning per week to 5-6 games per week or more.  So please consider joining the Central Alberta Football Officials Association, we would love to see you on the field.
